Health & Safety

[Current case count data for campus is available here]

After a two-year pandemic-induced hiatus, we are thrilled to invite campus teams to join us on the Evergreen State College's beautiful campus for the Washington Center's 23rd annual National Summer Institute for Improving Undergraduate Education. The work you will do at the summer institute will be targeted towards creating change on your campus in support of student success. Your ability to lead that change is critical. That’s why we’ve taken health and safety as a crucial consideration in our planning. Be assured that we will adhere to the current CDC guidelines for small and large gatherings to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission for every part of the institute.  In-person attendees will be required to comply with current health guidance from Washington State and Evergreen State College, which may include wearing a face covering while inside.

Vaccination is required unless exempt

Evergreen is a fully vaccinated campus. To protect you and our community, all campus visitors must be fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to arrival and will be required to show proof of vaccination upon arrival. If you have a vaccination exemption, please contact us for additional guidance.

Masking is welcome but not required

Individuals who wish to continue to wear masks are encouraged to do so. Bullying or other inappropriate behavior related to masking will not be tolerated.  Masks are still required for those with an exposure or positive COVID-19 result during the 10-days post exposure/diagnosis.  Masks are encouraged for individuals who are ill, at increased risk for severe illness, or live with individuals at risk for severe illness.

If there is anything we can do to support your health and safety, please contact us.
